TIFFIN WAYFARER Recall: Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. - Fire risk (Aug 2026)
Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. is recalling certain 2026–2027 TIFFIN WAYFARER. Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Wayfarer recreational vehicles. The liquid propane (LP) tank may have been manufactured without the remote shut off and may be loose in the mounting bracket. LP tanks that cannot be shut off increase the risk of a fire. Additionally a loose LP tank may detach and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
What you should do

Descriptive Information:
The recall population includes all 2026 Wayfarer 25 RW models only and 2027 Wayfarers, all models.
These motorhomes have the LP tank installed under the body of the motorhome and do not have a
remote LP shut off switch installed. These LP tanks are also installed with a incorrect mounting bracket.
The motorhomes not involved in the recall have the LP tank installed in a nonlocking compartment so
that the shut off valve is easily accessible or under the body of the motorhome with a remote LP shut off
valve installed that has a switch in an easily accessible nonlocking outside compartment. The
motorhomes not involved in the recall also have an LP tanks that is attached with the correct bracket.
Defect / Noncompliance Description
Description of the defect or noncompliance:
The LP tank is installed at a distance greater than 18 inches from the outside wall of the motorhome
and does not have a remote shut off valve for the LP tank installed. The bracket used to secure the
front side of the LP tanks to the motorhome was not built to specifications, which causes some
movement in the attachment of the LP tank.
