What is the danger?

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause serious illness. It is unusual among foodborne bacteria because it grows at refrigerator temperatures, so chilling does not make contaminated food safe. Symptoms can appear days or weeks after eating. Risk is highest for pregnant people, newborns, older adults, and anyone immunocompromised.

What should I do if I have this product?

Do not eat this product, even if it looks and smells normal. Throw it away or return it. Listeria can survive refrigeration, so wash and sanitise anything the product touched - containers, shelves, utensils. If you are pregnant, over 65, or have a weakened immune system, and you have eaten this product, contact a doctor.

Is this recall still active?

As of December 3, 2024 this recall is listed as terminated by the FDA.
