Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling certain 2009–2010 ALTEC. ALTEC IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009-2010 ALTEC DIGGER DERRICKS BUILT FROM APRIL 2009 THROUGH MAY 2010. THE TURNTABLE DEVICES ON THESE VEHICLES HAVE USED HIGH STRENGTH FASTENERS THAT MAY FAIL DUE TO STRESS CORROSION AND CRACKING. FAILURE OF A FASTENER COULD CAUSE THE PEDESTAL TO SEPARATE FROM THE TURNTABLE AND MAY CAUSE AN OCCUPANT TO FALL FROM THE VEHICLE AND SUFFER INJURY.

Dear Altec Owner,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor
Vehicle Safety Act.
Altec Industries, Inc. has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain
AA55/60/60E, AA755L, AM650/855, AM900 Elevator, AN50E-OC, AN650, AO442, L42M/P,
L45M, LRV, LRV Elevators, and TA50/55/60 aerial devices, and DL digger derricks. This can,
under certain conditions, possibly result in rotation bearing fastener failure.
Altec will supply rotation bearing fasteners to correct this condition. This repair is covered by
Altec’s warranty policy.
In order to determine if your unit is affected by CSN 541, compare the serial number of your unit
with the list of affected units as described on the CSN. The repair can be performed by the customer
or you may contact Altec Industries, Inc. at 1-877-GO-ALTEC (1-877-462-5832), prompt 1, to
schedule the repair to be completed at an Altec facility or by an Altec mobile service technician.
After contacting Altec Industries, Inc., if you are still not able to have the safety defect remedied
within a reasonable time, you may write to: Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Admin-

424-9153) or go to http:/www.safercar.gov.
If you have sold or retired the unit please call Altec at 1-877-GO-ALTEC (1-877-462-5832) so the
records may be changed.
If you have leased this equipment to another person or company, you are required by Federal Law to
forward a copy of this notice to the lessee by first class mail within ten (10) days of the receipt of
