INFINITI QX30 Recall: Nissan North America, Inc. - Fire risk (Dec 2016)

Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2017 INFINITI QX30. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2017 Infiniti QX30 vehicles manufactured August 11, 2016, to September 27, 2016. The affected vehicles have a passenger air bag inflator initiator that may fail to ignite during a crash, preventing the air bag from deploying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." A passenger air bag that fails to deploy in the event of a crash can increase the risk of injury.

This second notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Infiniti has decided that certain 2017 model year Infiniti QX30 vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal
Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FVMSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." Our records indicate that you own or
lease the Infiniti vehicle identified by the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) inside of this notice.

Infiniti previously sent you a letter explaining that the passenger air bag assemblies in your vehicle may not deploy as
designed in the event of a crash, which may increase the risk of injury in a crash where passenger air bag deployment is
warranted.

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Your Infiniti retailer will replace the affected front passenger air bag
assembly in your QX30 with a new one, at no charge, to correct the issue. This free service should take around two (2)
